new dawn

This album presents a dive into very minimal, sparse ambient, with soft pianos and synths fading in and out. Inpsired by a trip to the wilderness of Iceland, the album tells a vague story of day and night, and being lost in an uninviting wilderness, but also hides a deeper theme of isolation and human connection. The album starts with ‘searching’, a piano piece which suggests an attempt to search for help using a radio, before gradually accepting that whoever is sending the message is alone, and that no help is coming. As day heads into night, the album becomes darker in sound, suggesting something sinister is lurking in the wilderness. Finally day returns, and the sunrise brings a new sense of joy to the music, with the closing tracks ending on a hopeful note.
