Pulse-Code
In a stark contrast to the previous album, ‘Pulse-Code’ delivers a more gritty, aggressive tone, with harsh industrial beats with layers of texture and distortion. The album also incorporates a decent helping of bit-crushing, giving it a distinct digital, low fidelity sound. The opening track, ‘Laser’, provides an abrupt, intense start to the album, with the laser synth quickly devolving into chaos. ‘Slide’ is a harsh drum-n-bass banger with multiple distinct sections. The title track contains an acid line running through, which glitches out and crashes at the end. As the album develops, it heads into a more ambient direction, although the distorted, fuzzy sound remains present. The album ends with ‘Light At the End of the Tunnel’, which provides some calm after the chaotic, noisy storm which proceeded it.
